Dear SJV Community
In discussion with staff there is an opportunity for SJV to return to single stream/straight classes in K-6, from the beginning of 2024 onward. The original decision to go multi-age/composite was due to:
There are positives for both multi age/composite classes and for single streamed classes, so we review our class structure annually. Due to our current numbers and what we can predict into the future, we now have an opportunity to make a renewed considered choice.
We would like you to provide your feedback about your preference in:
Thank you in anticipation for your valued feedback. Please click on the link below.
Kind regards, Nina De Rosa Acting Principal (For Peter Rodda) |
As information comes to hand regarding the transformation to the new TechOne Finance system, we will send out information to keep you in the loop with how the system has changed and how hopefully moving forward we will be able to assist by sending to you useful 'how to' information.
Finance Transformation: School Fees and Billing System Changes
St John Vianney Primary School in partnership with Catholic Education, Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn (CECG), has now migrated to a new finance system to generate efficiencies that works alongside the Compass parent portal and Compass mobile application, giving parents/caregivers visibility of their financial transactions within Compass.
Additionally, changes will affect the way you pay student tuition fees, levies, and other payments.
School Fee Statement Changes
School fee statements will have a new look. A new Customer Reference Number (CRN) has been created and payment methods have been updated. A statement will be sent out shortly that will contain an updated BPAY Biller Code and CRN that will need to be utilised going forward.
Statements will be emailed to financially responsible account holders each month, so it is necessary to ensure that your information is updated in the Compass parent portal, including your address and current email address.
Payment Methods
To support the changes in the school finance system, BPAY is now the preferred payment method. You will receive your new statement shortly, which will contain the new BPAY Biller code and your new CRN.
Utilising these new unique codes will ensure that any payments made will be accurately assigned to your account.
BPAY payment scheduling is supported by most financial institutions. Please contact your bank for further details if required.
If you already have scheduled BPAY payment in place, it is important that you ensure these details are updated to use the new BPAY Biller Code and CRN.
Payments can be made through Compass, but this does cost the school transactional fees, reducing the funds available to support the school. Where possible, please pay school fees via BPAY or directly at the school office via cash or EFTPOS.
How to use BPAY
Your new fee statement will display a distinct BPAY logo which includes your BPAY biller code and Customer Reference Number with an example is pictured below.
Under the History tab, fee payers can view their account balance and transaction history. Please allow up to 24 hours for BPAY payments to appear on your account.
Thank you for supporting the school with these system changes and should you have any concerns please feel free to contact us.
Please note - Merit Awards will be handed out at NEXT Friday's morning assembly.

Mega Cash Raffle
Our Mega cash raffle tickets will be available for sale from week 10. First prize is $1000 and second prize $500.
In addition to selling tickets to family/friends/colleagues we also sell tickets outside Cooleman Court to the general public on weekends for an hour or two up until the draw date in early December. The Mega Cash raffle is our major fundraiser and selling outside Cooleman Court is integral to the success of the fete and how much money we raise for our school. We are looking for someone to coordinate this activity, as well as people to assist in selling raffle tickets on the weekends (assistants can help one weekend or several).
Coordinating involves collecting raffle tickets, ipad and square reader from the Front Office, determining days and times for the selling of raffle tickets, informing the Fete Committee of intended selling days/times to allow for communication to the school community who can volunteer to assist, selling raffle tickets at Cooleman Court.
If you think this sounds like something you could do and would like to volunteer to coordinate the selling of tickets outside Cooleman Court please email sjvfete@gmail.com

Kinder St Anthony enjoying the sunshine and taking a selfie with their grass seed heads. Kinder have been learning about living and non living things during science. They planted grass seeds and watered them to make them grow. They also gave them a "haircut" to encourage further growth.
Happy ‘Early Childhood Educators Day’ to our wonderful team of ELC teachers and educators.
Thank you to everyone who was able to come to our Father’s Day celebrations last Friday and Monday. We hope that the dads all had a wonderful weekend.
This week, we enjoyed a visit from Constable Kenny Koala. He spoke to the children about how to stay safe, stranger danger and road safety. We even got to have a look at Constable Kenny’s special police car.
You will notice that gnomes and special messages have started popping up in the gardens around the ELC just in time for Floriade. Each year the ELC supports the Canberra Rotary Club by purchasing their Floriade Gnomes.
