End of Year Swimming Lessons for SJV
God bless everyone and stay safe
Top of the Class.
Our St John Vianney’s teachers have been busy in learning mode. Throughout the Semester they have collectively attended over 150 hours of Professional Development. This has included specialised learning in Religious Education and Faith Formation, MAPA (Management of Potential Aggression), ACARA Arts Curriculum and IT Curriculum, the CE Catalyst Program which has 2 bold goals – Every student is a competent reader and High Impact Teaching practice visible in every classroom, Compass which is our new internal online system for marking the morning roll, school reports and keeping records amongst other things.
Pat Kelly, Robyn Carmody and Helen Champion presenting ACARA Arts Curriculum.
We were appreciative to have had a visit from Lisa Harris, a Teaching and Learning Officer from the CE yesterday afternoon. She demonstrated DIBLES in action, which is an assessment tool for early intervention for students that may need extra support in all areas of English. They all received gold stars when it was their turn to have a go! Well done Mr Young, Mrs Stilling and Mrs Sloane.
Ms. Lisa Mammoliti, Religious Education and Faith Formation Officer from the CE worked alongside Laura Matchett our REC and the Year 1 to Year 4 teachers to develop our school based Religious Education Curriculum Scope and Sequence and programs. This will guide what will be taught in this sacred space in the coming year. They were truly guided by the Holy Spirit and the Gospel Teaching of Jesus.
