School Wide Positive Behaviours
This week we say a heartfelt farewell to Mr Anthony Scarfone, one of our Learning Support Assistants.
Mr Scarfone has been a valued part of our team, supporting students with care, patience, and a genuine passion for helping them grow and succeed. His dedication and kindness have made a lasting impact on both students and staff, and he will be greatly missed.
We thank Anthony for all the time, energy, and warmth he has brought to our school community. Anthony completes his teaching degree in Term 3, allowing him to take up the opportunity to teach his own class.
We wish him all the very best in his next chapter.

By now you’ve marked your calendar for the SJV fete on Saturday 1 November! It’s a bumper line up of fun already but we need your help.
It's time to start collecting! We’re on the hunt for clean and good quality:
- Toys
- Books
- Second-hand items for the White Elephant stall
- Plants and seeds
- Supermarket paper or plastic bags
All of these things help make our stalls amazing and we’re grateful for your generosity. Please note electrical goods, cots and mattresses can’t be accepted.
Stay tuned, we will let you know when you can drop your items off at school.
Sponsorship
Do you have or know of a business that can support our event? Sponsorship is crucial to the success of the fete. We would love to receive donations of cash (to sponsor a ride or stall), vouchers, merchandise, products or services for our on-the-day prizes and raffles.
Sponsors receive great benefits in return for their support, including promotional signs, MC mentions on fete day, features in our newsletter and on our fete flyer so they get great exposure! Email sjvfete@gmail.com if you know of a business that would like to be involved.
For more info or if you’re interested in volunteering, contact the fete crew at sjvfete@gmail.com
We then walked over to the National Museum where we used virtual reality goggles to explore the Kimberley! This was AMAZING!! The museum gallery ‘Great Southern Land’ also showed displays, pictures, videos and information of other Australian landmarks and places. What a great excursion filled with learning, smiles and connections!!!

Exploring the World with Year 2
Our Year 2 students have shown tremendous dedication as they explored Australia, the wider world, and the continents—discovering how we are all connected both locally and globally.
Throughout the term, students engaged in meaningful research, created eye-catching posters, and shared personal items such as clothing, food, books, and toys that reflect their connections to different parts of the world. Their work was a celebration of culture, identity, and global understanding.
A big congratulations to Year 2—you’ve worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of all you’ve achieved!
Thank you to all the families and special guests who joined us to support and celebrate the students' learning journey. Your presence made the experience even more memorable.

Celebrating Sporting Success – Representing ACT and Australia!
We are incredibly proud to share the exciting news that two of our Year 5 students have been selected to represent both the ACT and Australia in their respective sports!
Carter Smith has been chosen to represent the ACT and Australia at the upcoming Futsal competition in the Philippines—an amazing achievement and a true reflection of his dedication and skill.
Our other outstanding sportsperson, Rupert Aubrey, will be heading to Queensland to represent the ACT at the National Cross Country Championships. What a fantastic accomplishment!
To celebrate their achievements and help support their fundraising efforts, 27th July will be "Wear Your Favourite Sports Jersey or Sports Colours Day". We invite all students to come dressed in their favourite team colours or sportswear and bring along a donation to help these boys on their sporting journey.
Let’s get behind them and show our support—go team!
