TRIVIA NIGHT IS BACK
FRIDAY 2 AUGUST - 7PM
Enjoy a fun night out at the SJV Trivia Night.
. It's live on QKR for you to purchase your tickets.
. Dress up like an Olympian, the Eifel Tower, a balance beam or a croissant, let your imagination go wild. There will be prizes for best dressed individual and the best dressed group.
By now you’ve marked your calendar for the SJV fete on Saturday 2 November! It’s a bumper line up of fun already but we need your help.
With school holidays approaching, we’re on the hunt for clean and good quality:
- Toys
- Books
- Second-hand items for the White Elephant stall
- Plants and seeds
- Supermarket paper or plastic bags
All of these things help make our stalls amazing and we’re grateful for your generosity. Please note electrical goods can’t be accepted.
Drop off
Items can be dropped to SJV reception between 2pm-4pm on Sunday 21 July, the last day of the school holidays. Matt from the fete team will be on hand to assist and there will be labelled boxes for your donations.
Sponsorship
Do you have or know of a business that can support our event? Sponsorship is crucial to the success of the fete. We would love to receive donations of cash (to sponsor a ride or stall), vouchers, merchandise, products or services for our on-the-day prizes and raffles.
Sponsors receive great benefits in return for their support, including promotional signs, MC mentions on fete day, features in our newsletter and on our fete flyer so they get great exposure! Email sjvfete@gmail.com if you know of a business that would like to be involved.
For more info or if you’re interested in volunteering, contact the fete crew at sjvfete@gmail.com

ELC NEWS
Happy Birthday Elian Y, Katarina K and Theodore H
As part of the Resilience Program, we have been learning about gratitude. Please help grow our Gratitude Tree in the ELC foyer. Take a moment to think about what you are grateful for, write it on a leaf and add it to our tree. We hope you are able to enjoy a break and some family time to recharge during the term break.
Last Thursday our SJV buddies joined us for the morning. We were fortunate that the St Vincent De Paul night patrol van was here and we could see where our winter woolie donations went and who they were helping.
Canberra Theatre Excursion – Grug
On Friday 26 July (Term 3, Week 1) the Lobsters and Turtles will enjoy a fun bus trip to the Canberra Theatre to see Grug. The cost is $35 per child and will be added to your week 1 ELC account. This includes the ticket to the Canberra Theatre and the charter bus. Permission notes are in your notes pocket.
ELC Fees and CCS changes
Your next fee statement will be sent in the first week of the holidays. It will include Week 2 of the holidays and Week 1 of Term 3. It will also include the $85 Term 3 Resource Fee and the $35 excursion fee for Grug (for the Lobsters and Turtles). From 8 July, the CCS hourly cap and family income thresholds will increase with CPI so you may notice a small increase in your total CCS. This will be processed automatically and you do not need to do anything to action it.
St John Vianney’s Fete
Have a holiday clean out and support SJV’s fete! SJV are collecting items for the upcoming fete including items for the White Elephant stall (books, toys etc), plants and seeds for the plant stall, and supermarket paper bags. Items can be dropped to the SJV carpark between 2pm-4pm on Sunday 21 July, the last day of the school holidays. For more information contact the fete crew at sjvfete@gmail.com. If you forgot to bring your chocolate donation from the ELC uniform free day, it’s not too late to drop that off to the ELC.
