Colour Run Walkathon - Friday 28 April 2023
It’s time to get excited about the 2023 Colour Walk-a-thon! The Walk-a-thon is a route of approximately 5kms and is an opportunity for our community to exercise, have a great time with our friends and family as well as raise funds for our students. We have chnaged the timing this year ensuring the Walk-a-thon will be a vibrant and colourful event. What this means is the school community will complete the Walk-a-thon as normal and then as they come to the finish line they will be showered in coloured powder to mark the event.
More information about the event and how to collect sponsorship will follow next week.
Reminder -

School Wide Positive Behaviours
Happy Birthday to Olivia H and Shirley W
This week many of the ELC children have started using each other’s names in conversations and when retelling events. Already the children are becoming more confident during transitions throughout the day. They are getting better at looking after their belongings and relationships between staff, children and families are developing and strengthening.
ELC Family Information Night
Thank you to those families who joined our Parent Information Night on Tuesday. For those families who were unable to make it, there are documents in your child’s note pockets (located at the classroom door) that need to be completed and returned ASAP.
Parent Sharing Meetings – Thank you to those families who have made time to attend a Parent Sharing meeting with your child’s teacher. If you are yet to book a Parent Sharing meeting, please write your name on the booking sheet located on your classroom window.
Confirmation of Childcare Agreement
Please remember to return your signed Agreement to the ELC as soon as possible.
Car park
The carpark in front of the school is designated for ELC families. Please do not use this carpark if you do not have a child in the ELC.
Emails
Teachers sent out a class email to all families last week with information about your child’s class. If you have not received this email, please notify the ELC so you can be added to the distribution list. You may also need to check your junk/spam folder as some email providers do not recognise the CE email. If this is the case you will need to mark the email as a trusted source.
Library – The children have all enjoyed at least one library session. Library is held every Wednesday, please remember to pack your child’s library bag and book so they can return and borrow each week.
Community Council Meeting – The St Jude’s Community Council meeting will be held this coming Wednesday 15 February at 6pm in the school library. The first part is the Community Council AGM, it will then be followed by the regular CC meeting. You can join the regular CC meeting via MS Teams, a link will be sent to all families closer to the day. All are welcome to attend.
Student absences – Please advise the ELC office and your child’s teacher if your child is going to be absent from school and a brief description of why. We record all illnesses so we can track if there are any outbreaks that the community need to be aware of. This can be via phone or email.
Parent Representative - If you are interested in being a class representative can you please contact the ELC office. Class representatives organise occasional catch-ups with the class, share communications about up-coming events and assist in fundraisers.
Scholastic Book Orders
Check your note pockets for the most recent Scholastic Book Catalogue. If you would like to purchase books, orders are due by 20 February. A percentage of purchases is donated back to the school for book purchases.
