St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
St John Vianney’s will once again be supporting the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. The last two years have been a challenge for everyone, especially those experiencing disadvantage.
This year has come with new trials including the impacts of closed borders, global inflation, and the east coast energy crisis, putting pressure on people in Australia and adding stress for people already experiencing hardship. We are asking for donations of non-perishable food which we will give to our local Vinnies volunteers to make hampers for those in need. Food items that can be donated are listed below, and are welcome to be dropped into the front office. The last day to drop off donations is Friday, December 2nd. We thank you for your support of this worthy cause.
Parish Mass
We will be attending one more Parish Mass this term as a school on Wednesday 23rd November (Week 7) at 9:30am. All parishioners are welcome to attend. Another Mass was scheduled for Wednesday 30th November, however, this has been cancelled as Father Michael will be away.
Please note - Merit Awards will be handed out at NEXT Friday's morning assembly.

The sun is finally shining bright and the rain has cleared just in time for the P - 2 athletics carnival today. We are very much looking forward to participating in all the rotations today.
Vinnies Food Drive
The Parish is joining with St Vincent de Paul to organise care packages for local families in need. The ELC has been asked to donate non-perishable breakfast food including cereal, UHT milk, teabags, milo, instant coffee, baked beans, tins of fruit and spreads (peanut butter, vegemite, etc). Donations can be dropped at the ELC front office before Friday 2 December.
Scholastics Book Club
Finding a book club magazine in our pockets is always super exciting. Orders due Friday 2 December.
Water play
The warmer weather means water play. Please ensure your child has spare clothes and socks so that they can enjoy some water fun.
Silkworms
A kind member of our community donated some silk worms for the children to observe. We have watched them eat and eat and eat many mulberry leaves and they have started to weave cocoons. We are excited to continue watching and observing the life cycle as moths hatch from the cocoons.
Last Day of Term – Thursday 15 December
The last day of term is Thursday 15 December. Friday 16December is a pupil free day and no fees will be applied for this day.

Best day ever @ the SJV fete!
Mega cash raffle:
This is the major source of fundraising for the school and every ticket sale counts! Our Raffle was launched at the fete. Raffle books have been sent home with the children. If you would like more books, please contact Jet in the Front Office. The Raffle will be drawn Tuesday 13th December at 2pm. It would be fantastic if every family could sell at least one book. To ensure all sold tickets are entered in the drawer, please return all sold and unsold tickets and payment (cash or Qkr) to the front office.
Selling tickets at Cooleman Court
Shout out for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets at Cooleman Court to raise money for our wonderful school community.
Looking for people for Saturday and Sunday for as long as you can stay to sell raffle tickets.
The wonderful Sonia Taflaga is coordinating the roster, please contact Sonia directly 0412 322 210 to let her know you can help out. We would love to start selling at Coolo this weekend.
Thanks again, it's for a good cause to raise extra funds and awareness of our school.
Sponsors
Big thanks to our wonderful sponsors!! We appreciate all the support that our sponsors give to us. Please show these businesses your support our Fete would not be the success it is without them. THANK YOU.!
