Can you imagine living without electricity?
Library books arrived from Sydney once a year.
Traveling by steam train.
Listening to the wireless.
Dipping a nib into an ink well to write.
Chopping wood for the stove to cook casseroles on.
These are some of the interesting facts from the past that Mrs McCarry (Freya’s grandma) spoke to the year 2’s about.
Olive & Sabina competed in their final gymnastics competition for 2022 - State Championships.
The girls have been working very hard this year and were very proud with their Level 3 Team walking away with silver.
Well done girls we're very proud of your achievements.
ELC NEWS
Yesterday the Turtle and Lobster class celebrated Book Week with the primary school’s annual parade. The Stingray class had their dress up day on Monday. It is not only a day for children to celebrate their favourite book character, teachers love to get dressed up too! This year the teachers dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and 101 Dalmatians.
Much fun was had throughout the day. Thank you for all the efforts put in to making such fabulous and creative costumes.
Hats on –When UV reaches 3 the children are required to wear hats outside. Please ensure your child brings a hat to school with their name clearly labelled on it.
Father's Day Stall – The Father's Day stall will be held next Wednesday 31 August. The children are invited to bring along a few dollars in a labelled envelope to purchase a gift for dad. We will hold a pop-up stall for the Lobsters on Thursday 1st September so that they do not miss out.
Father’s Day Liturgy
This year the ELC are presenting the Father’s Day liturgy. ELC families are welcome to come along on Friday 2September at 9:30am in the church.

Happy Book Week Everyone!
We were very fortunate to begin our Book Week celebrations with a visit from Anna Battese, the author of two books ‘PD McPem's Agency for Mysterious Mysteries Series. She inspired us all with stories of her own personal adventures as well as stories from her imagination.
Anna spoke about how she plans her writing and begins her story writing process. She showed us some great ways to plan out our ideas before writing, and encouraged us all to be as crazy as we liked with our own imaginations! This week in library lessons we have not only celebrated Book Week by reading great books but we have also started creating our own stories.. we are all the authors of our very own books! Thanks Anna for being here with us and inspiring us to use our imaginations!
Yesterday we celebrated Book Week with our book character parade. WOW!! What an amazing effort by everyone! Thank you to all our families who helped bring our love of books alive. The students looked amazing in their outfits and were so proud to talk to others about their character and what book it came from! What a super fun way to encourage reading and a love of books! We have some fantastic photos to share with you all!
Yesterday was also Australian School Library Day! Thank you to all our families who support our school library. The students love borrowing books and sharing them with you at home or reading them in class! From scrambling to find library books on library borrowing day, to searching book shelves for the hidden/ lost over due book, to buying books from our school book club (which gives us points to buy new books), donating books, covering books, celebrating books, thank you! We love our school library!!
Happy Book Week everyone! I hope you too can find some time in your busy week to escape into a really good book.
Mrs Spackman

Extraordinary News Bulletin
Donations Wanted!
In the spirit of ‘one person’s trash is someone’s treasure’, we are calling for donations.
If everyone can send in 3-4 (or more if your happy to give) items for each category (listed below) that they no longer need or love, we will have a very healthy basis for a great fundraiser.
These funds directly support the education of your child and the environment that they work in.
Below I have placed a schedule for donations to be given to the school over this term and early next term.
