Dear Parents and Carers
My apologies that you did not receive the Events Calendar on Monday. We had some technical issues, but these have now been resolved. You will receive your copy tomorrow.
Calendar Dates
Please note there are two very important dates on our Calendar - The 50th Anniversary Mass and Morning Tea and The 50th Anniversary Ball. This means there will be events for all community members to celebrate 50 years of excellence in our community. More information regarding the Mass and Ball will be out soon in the form of a hard copy flyer. We are hoping to have all information to you by Friday, but we must make sure everything is correct before we place items on our FB and Web Page. You will receive an email and SZappp notification when all is ready.
CBR Check-In
Can I remind you that there is an expectation that anyone who comes into the school sign in with the check in CBR app - St John Vianney's Primary School, if you are unable to scan with your mobile phone, please enter the code 835982 manually to check in. This is located directly in the Front Office.
Stay safe and God bless.
Peter Rodda
Principal
Please note - Merit Awards will be handed out at NEXT Friday's morning assembly.

Tuckshop Volunteers Needed
If you can only spare a couple of hour
EXTRA NOTE:
Fridays are the busiest for Karen and it would be great if you could offer some time to help out during the day. If you are able to assist, please fill out the tuckshop volunteer form and send it in. We do very much appreciate all our families that already volunteer for the canteen, as they say many hands make light work. Many thanks.
If you can spare a couple of hours, that would be fantastic. If you have little ones, they are very welcome to come along.
Please contact the front office or fill in the tuckshop volunteer form to let us know you are able to help and when.
ELC NEWS
Happy Birthday Vincent
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles who have been our Mystery Readers. We will continue Mystery Readers this term. If you can spare some time to come in and read a book or two, add your name to the Term 3 roster on the classroom door – your child will love the surprise.
Gymnastics Term 4
Many children and parents have made comments in regards to continuing the gymnastics program. Can you please indicate on the sheet near the sign in/out iPads if you would like the ELC to participate in Gymnastics again in Term 4.
COVID-19 adjustment and changes
Thank you for your understanding and support during these challenging times. It is important that we all ensure that only 6 adults (over 16yrs) are in the foyer area at any one time. Please remember to maintain 1.5m distance at all times.
Check-in CBR
We are asking all adults - staff, parents, carers and visitors to use the Check In CBR app when they enter ELC grounds. The general rule is, if you leave your vehicle or come inside the school gate, find a QR code and check in. This must be done in conjunction with signing children in and out of ELC.
Athletics Carnival
The ELC will be participating in the SJV Athletics Carnival which has been rescheduled for Friday 30 July. Please return the permission note ASAP.
Fee Payments – We have received a few payments without a reference. Please ensure you reference your child/family name when making a payment to ensure your payment is credited to your account.

Canberra & Goulburn Youth Ministry - Maria Corson
St John Vianney's Youth Ministry Notices
Below are all notices related to faith across the Canberra Goulburn Archdiocese for young families, children, and high school students!
Fill in Youth Minister at SJV
The beloved Elena Catanzariti who has been working at St John Vianney's PS as a youth minister for the last year or so is spending the next couple of weeks away on university placement from 31/05/2021 (Week 7) – 23/07/2021 (Week 2). In light of her leave, another youth minister – Maria Corson is filling in the Youth Minister role at SJV.
Junior Legion of Mary - Queen of All Saints Praesidium
Grow closer to Jesus through journeying with Mary! In our Parish of the Annunciation, we have a junior Legion of Mary starting up, where all children are invited to deepen their faith through a weekly meeting and doing spiritual works of mercy in union with Mary. The weekly meeting time is every Saturday from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the St John Vianney Presbytery Meeting room 87 Namatjira Dr, Waramanga. If you and your child are interested but the day or time does not suit, message Maria at maria.corson@cg.org.au to discuss!
Youth Group
To finish the theme of virtues we will be looking at the virtue of fortitude this weekend at Youth Group! Fortitude teaches us about staying strong in the face of trials - as the catechism says - 'Fortitude conquers fear' (CCC, 1808).
When: Sunday, July 25th from 4 pm to 5 pm
Where: St Jude's PS Hall
Who: Students ages 10 to 15 y/o.
With games, afternoon tea, and a discussion on the fortnightly theme focus, youth group is where students can grow in friendship and faith. Stay tuned for future youth group dates and this semester's theme in the upcoming weeks. Chuck us an email if you have any questions!
