SJV Walk-a-thon August 4th 2020

It’s time to get excited about the 2020 Walk-a-thon! The Walk-a-thon is a route of approximately 5kms and is an opportunity for our community to exercise, as well as raising funds for making our school hall a more welcoming space.

With current restrictions in place, we will have students walk the course in class groups, adhering to social distancing rules.  If restrictions are eased leading up to the event we will reconsider the format to meet the current guidelines. Our intention is to still participate in the ‘colour fun’ at the end of the day.  The Walkathon will form part of the SJV Feast Day celebrations.

The children will receive a booklet outlining how just $10 will ensure a reward and instructions on how students can begin the fundraising. The more money raised the better their reward.  The easiest way to help your child raise money is by using the online format and setting up a personalised profile page at schoolfundraising.com.au and sharing your online fundraising link with family and friends.

The SRC will highlight and award prizes for individuals and classes who are leading the charge with raising funds.

Our school fundraising target is $5000. These funds will assist in making our school hall a more welcoming space and contribute towards refurbishing the hall floor and creating an engaging mural on the white wall. Children will begin the event by walking around the community with their peers, enjoy a sausage sizzle and ending the day by being splattered with colour.
