Happy birthday Eva T
Reconciliation Week has been a focus of each of the classes over the past week. ELC children have taken part in the school’s book art project. The lobster class have enjoyed reading “When the Snake Bites the sun” which raised the concepts of sharing and generated discussions around feelings. The Turtle class read “Warnayarra the Rainbow Snake” before painting their own illustrations to match the story. The Stingray class spent time with their year 5 buddy class and shared a book that Maggie and her family brought in being “The Invisible String”. After a long process of brainstorming, voting and observing the two turtles have names. One is Hide and the other is Seek. The children had voted on Bluey and Dingo however, when they put the turtles in the middle of their class circle one hid in its shell and the other ran. The children say they must be playing a game of hide and seek.
Natural Resources from the Coast – If you happen to be visiting the coast this weekend, please look out for natural resources that you could bring back to the ELC. We are hoping to collect shells, seed pods, driftwood and other interesting natural items.
Covid-19 adjustments - Thank you for adapting to our changed pick up and drop off routines via the side gate. For the safety of children, families and staff, we ask that parents/carers and non-essential visitors do not enter the ELC building. Please remember to follow social distancing rules while waiting at the gate. We welcome your feedback on these adjustments.
Unwell Children – Unwell children are required to stay at home. Please email the ELC to let us know if your child is unwell.
Birthdays and Celebrations - If you are sending food in for the class to help celebrate an occasion, it needs to be pre-packaged and have ingredients listed.
ELC Holiday Care - The ELC will be running a Holiday Care Program for the two weeks of the July school holidays. The program will run from 8am to 5:30pm each day. Information about the program and booking forms will be available at the ELC office.
ELC Fees - Due to the Australian Government's Early Childhood Education and Care Relief Package, no 'gap fees' will be charged from 6 April (Term 1, Week 10) until 28 June. If you have any queries in relation to your account, please phone or email the ELC.
