Principal's Message

Welcome to the beginning of Term 4. I cannot believe how busy this term will be, so please make sure you are checking the school calendar located on our website and the 'For the Calendar - Dates to Remember' section in the newsletter, this will keep you across all the planned fun.
Lord, as we prepare for the coming of a new term.
Make us ready, attentive and available to hear you.
Thank you for the gift of being able
to rise each day with the assurance that
you walk through it with us.
Thank you for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness,
and the energy to put them to good use.
May all that we are today,
all that we try to do today,
may all our encounters, reflections,
even the frustrations and failings
all be placed in your hands.
May the work we do and the way we do it,
bring new hope, new life, and courage
to all we come in contact with this semester.
We thank you Lord.
School Pick Up and Drop Off
Just a reminder that if you are dropping off or picking children up from school, we have a specific drop off and pick up zone outside of our school hall. Please use this area as it keeps our students safe and eliminates congestion and frustration in our car park. Also, a reminder to those parents who are parking their car, to not park beside a curb that is painted red.
Grandparents Day - Thursday 23rd October
Next Thursday we will be celebrating our Grandfriend's Day with a Prayer Celebration beginning at 9:30am in the school hall, this will be followed with class visits where grandparents will have the opportunity to 'Read, Reflect and Connect' with their grandchildren. This is all followed with a pizza lunch (orders close 21st October) to share with the children and grandparents, should be a great day.
Boorowa Carnival - Friday 24th October
We have approximately 30% of our school attending this fun sporting event next Friday. I wish all the children well for their associated sports. A big thank you to Mrs Malpas who has been key in creating this opportunity for our students.
Director's Visit- Tuesday Morning Key Leaders Days Thursday
The Executive Director of Catholic Education, David de Carvalho, will be visiting our school on Tuesday morning next week.
I have much to discuss with the Director, regarding CECG support for SJV with class structures as well as future directions in curriculum and the religious life of our school.
Fete - 1st November
Below is a repeat message that I sent out in Compass yesterday. I would not ordinarily do this but I feel the message is very important.
A huge thank you to the Fete Organising Committee and the wonderful volunteers who have already committed their time for our big day on November 1.
This year, all funds raised will go towards re-turfing and installing a full irrigation system for the bottom soccer oval, as well as creating an incredible new play space for our students to enjoy.
Because this is such a large event, we still need more volunteers to make it a success. We’re grateful that nearly all of our staff have generously offered to help, dedicating their weekend to support our students and community—a true testament to their care and commitment.
I’ll be volunteering for the entire day myself because I firmly believe in the importance of this event—not just for our school, but for the wider community as well.
If you haven’t signed up yet, now is the perfect opportunity to get involved and show your child how much you value their education. There are plenty of ways to contribute, and if you can’t be there on the day, the committee will happily find a role that suits your schedule.
Thank you in advance for your support and participation. Together, we can make this Fete unforgettable!
