Principal's Message

Principal's Message
mr_rodda.jpgDear SJV Families

Welcome to Week 9 of Term 4 and the penultimate day for the school year.

A reminder that the last school day for students is Monday 16th December.

Remember if you would like to use the school grounds over the holidays, you are more than welcome, don't forget to lock the gate!

God of power and mercy open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy so that we may share his wisdom and become one with him when he comes in glory, for he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Goodbye and farewell

This term we say goodbye to some wonderful staff members.

Mrs Emma Donaghue who took Year 3 under her arms, giving them a brilliant education and a fantastic work ethic to keep them in good stead, and to Mr Toth who ably assisted Emma each and every Friday.

Mrs Liz Diskin for the last three years - who has been the Swiss army knife of our staff, taking on Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in various roles.  Helping children reach their potential and pushing them to achieve more.

Ms Olivia Brown one of our wonderful CSA team who was always there to support our students who need that little bit of extra encouragement and support.

We wish them all the best in everything that they do in 2025 and beyond.

Water Sprinklers on Monday - 38 degrees

There is a very good chance that we will turn the sprinklers on during our second break and let the children have a run through given the temperature and the need to cool off.  It may be a good idea to pack a small towel in their bag.

Many Thanks

On a personal note, I would like to thank our SCC for their tireless work given to the school and the support they give to my leadership of this community.  A special thanks to Beth Seivers, our current chair, who is stepping down after 5 years of service.

I would like to thank Fr Michael for his years of service to SJV and helping the children and our community with their faith formation.

I would like to thank parents for the multiple times they step up to make our community what it is, one that works hard and cares for others.

I would like to thank our teachers for their countless hours of extra work they do, whether it is school camp, masses on the weekend volunteering at community events but mostly for making sure that our wonderful children are well-looked after between 8:30am -3:30pm and beyond.

I would like to acknowledge our families that are leaving this year and the richness that their participation has added to the SJV community.  You will be missed.

Next Year - Parent Contacts and School Community Council

If you would like to help out with our SCC or be a parent contact for your class, just email the front office or directly to myself.  We are always seeking new input into our school.

Finally God bless and please come back to us safe
