Sacraments 2025

At St John Vianney’s, we’re pleased to support families participating in the Parish-led sacramental program. This program is a special journey for you and your child, with Reconciliation typically celebrated in Year 3, Eucharist in Year 4, and Confirmation in Year 6.

The program includes a faith formation workbook, reflection hours, and Gathering Masses to help guide your child’s faith journey. Enrolment is simple and can be completed through the Qkr App by searching for Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. We look forward to supporting your family on this meaningful path.

Your child will have received a note home explaining this year’s St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.

Each class has been allocated specific items to contribute to the hampers. Families are welcome to donate as many of these items as they wish. Thursday 12th December, 12:15pm: Year 6 Graduation Mass + Candle Ceremony

We warmly invite you to join us for the Year 6 Graduation and Candle Ceremony on Thursday, 12th December, at 12:15 pm. This special occasion celebrates our students' achievements and marks the conclusion of their primary school journey. During the Candle Ceremony, our 2024 Year 6 leaders will pass on the light of leadership to the 2025 Year 6 cohort. We look forward to sharing this meaningful and memorable moment with you and your family.

Advent

On Sunday, 1st December, we begin the season of Advent—a time of preparation, reflection, and renewal. The first candle of the Advent wreath, the Candle of Hope, will be lit, reminding us of the hope we have in Jesus and the hope we can bring to others.

Advent, meaning “coming,” is a four-week journey to prepare our hearts for Jesus’ birth at Christmas. It is also a time to reflect on how we can share hope, peace, joy, and love with those around us. Together, let us use this season to show kindness, build connections, and support those in need.

Gospel Reflection: Luke 21:25-28. 34-36

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us to stay alert and strong during challenging times, encouraging us to focus on what truly matters. As we prepare for the season of Advent, this is a chance to reflect on how we care for those around us. By supporting one another, helping those in need, and creating a sense of community, we can bring light and hope to others. Together, as a family and school community, let us use this time to grow in kindness and compassion, standing tall and united no matter what challenges come our way.
