St John Vianney Feast Day Celebrations 2024

The school community had a wonderful day celebrating our Patron Saint, St John Vianney. The day began with a beautiful Mass celebration with the Parish, setting a reflective and joyous tone. After Mass, students rotated through various organised activities. They engaged in prayer writing, participated in team-based games featuring potatoes (a staple meal for St John Vianney), created vibrant oil pastel artworks, and contributed to a shared display inspired by St John Vianney's quote, "It is always springtime in the heart that loves God." The celebrations were accompanied by a special French-themed treat at lunchtime. It was a lovely day enjoyed by all.

Gospel Reflection: John 6:41-51

In this Gospel reading, Jesus reveals himself as the bread of life, sent from heaven to offer eternal nourishment. Despite the disbelief of those around him, Jesus invites us to trust in his divine origin and mission. He teaches that faith in him leads to eternal life, a promise grounded in God's love and grace. May we draw closer to Jesus, the living bread, and be nourished by his teachings and love.

School Masses

As a school, we regularly attend the Wednesday morning 9:30 am Mass at St John Vianney’s Church. Please note, this term we will have one of our celebrations at 12.30pm, Thursday of Week 4, instead of 9.30am Wednesday, due to the Assumption Feast Day. The choir sings at this Mass, and sometimes our students have a role in other parts of the celebration. Parents and friends of our school are welcome to join us alongside parishioners at this Mass. The dates the school will be attending Mass this term and next term are as follows:

Term 3 Week 4 - Thursday 15th August, Assumption Feast Day: Parish Mass, 12.15pm (led by Year 2)

Term 3 Week 9 - Wednesday 18th September: Parish Mass, 9:30am (led by Year 3)
