Principal's Message
Dear SJV Community
Welcome to the end of Wk 5
God, help me navigate whatever challenges I encounter this day. Be my comfort and my rock. Guide me to do Your will and be an instrument of your peace today
Year 5/6 Camp
A big thank-you to Mrs Malpas and Mrs Hart for attending Year 5/6 Camp and looking after their classes 24/7. Several schools in the ACT have stopped running camps because of the volunteer time needed from staff. Fortunately the culture at SJV is one of service, and I am very thankful that we have a staff who believe in this creed.
Fire Drill
The school conducted a very successful fire drill on Wednesday. The children followed the procedure perfectly and our systems worked well. There is always fine tuning to be had, so we will continue to look at our plans to make them the best they can be. The next drill we will hold will be to review our Lockdown procedure.
Important Dates are -
NAPLAN Yrs 3 and 5 - 11th March to 18th March
School Disco - Thursday 4th April (details to follow)

Principals Retreat/Conference
Next Tuesday, I will leave school to attend the annual CECG Principals Retreat/Conference. Alongside the the spiritual aspect of the retreat, CECG Office often use this as a platform to release new information concerning strategic planning and innovative pedagogy. It is also a great opportunity for me to network with other Principal's. Mrs De Rosa will ensure the smooth running of the school until I return.
Reading the Newsletter
Not everyone is opening their newsletter (yes we get this feedback through the app, with specific names) which means that you are not always receiving necessary communication. Please make sure that you look at this document at least once every two weeks. A COMPASS message will be sent out advising all families of this news piece.
Class Contacts
We need contacts for Year 1, Year 3, Year 4 and both Year 5/6 classes. Please send an email in and volunteer for this class position. If you have not been in this role before, this is your chance to make a difference. The school will provide you everything you need.
God Bless
