Christmas Celebrations

Good afternoon parents.

I am requesting that we take a more sustainable approach to Christmas this year.  As such, I encourage students to think carefully before being excessive with gifting  Christmas cards and candy canes.  Within the school curriculum classes are often completing Christmas craft or other Christmas activities which promote the Christmas spirit. 

The school also does not want unnecessary expenses placed on parents. Therefore, classes won’t be holding Secret Santa/Kris Kringle activities as these activities can place an unnecessary burden on parents and can also be exclusionary.  This is not in the spirit of Christmas or our school.

What the school would like instead is for children to focus on bringing in one item for the Christmas Giving appeal to be collected by St Vincent De Paul.  This will support families less fortunate than our own.
