A message from the Assistant Principal and Mrs D's "Thought of the Week"
with Nina De Rosa
Hats On!
Just a reminder that all students will need to wear their hat during school breaks, to and from school especially if they are walking or on a bike. Hats shield the face and head from sunburn.
It protects your eyes from the brightness of the sun, which can cause damage and it also helps to prevent skin cancers and skin damage. Many of us now know the dangers of repeated sunburn and have to get our skin checked on a regular basis.
Naidoc Celebrations
SJV NAIDOC celebrations began with a digital event with author Sue Lawsone reading and a walk through of picture books. Over the last two Fridays, classes have completed indigenous artwork basked on stories with buddies.

100 days in Kindergarten
We couldn't be prouder of our Kindergarten students. In the last 100 days, they've made new friends and embraced the joy of learning with such enthusiasm. They all enjoyed the day dressing up in InitaLit characters, playing 100 games, shared a pizza lunch and even presented with a new 100 day t-shirt! Many thanks to Tessa Goundar for the t-shirts and Mrs Stilling for organising a wonderful day.
We look forward to the next 100 and beyond!

SUPERHERO WEDNESDAY - 16th August
The children can dress up as a superhero or wear a superhero symbol (badge, cape, mask etc) to help take a stand against bullying. (No weapons)
Classes will discuss what we can all do to ensure we all follow our school rules and help stop anyone feeling unsafe.
There is no cost to families, the school community will make a donation on behalf of all SJV families.
