ELC news
Happy Birthday to Gabriel. M, Aleksija. Z and Vincent. M
This term our Religious Education Unit had a focus of Jesus’ Community. This lead us to discussing our local community and people who can help us. Thank you to Matthew Thorpe (Olivia’s Dad) for telling us all about how he fixes the elevators in our community and to Sean Blunt (Elizabeth’s Dad) who works for the ACT Rural Fire Service and keeps our community environment safe from fires.
This year our ELC are focusing on ways we can reduce, reuse and recycle. Next week we have Tim Miller from Lids4Kids coming out to talk to us and to help start our collection of bottle top lids that will then be re-purposed into loose parts toys for our centre.
Start collecting those bottle top lids.
Tune in again next week for some photos!
ELC Reports and Portfolios
The children’s reports and portfolios have all been sent home. We hope you enjoy reflecting on your child’s learning journey this semester. Could you please take the time to complete the feedback sheet and return the portfolio to school before the end of term. Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child’s teacher and celebrating your child’s successes.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Thank you to those families who have already managed to meet with the teacher. Appointment booking sheets are up on the classroom windows. Next week is the last week that teachers have allocated time to meet, we do ask that all parents make the time to discuss reports and portfolios.
Child Care Subsidy Changes
From 10 July, changes to CCS will make childcare more affordable for most families. For more information about how these changes will affect you, go to Family eligibility and entitlement - Department of Education, Australian Government or visit StartingBlocks.gov.au I Early Childhood Education & Care for a CCS calculator.
