Happy Birthday Madeleine K and Bethany B
Welcome back to Term 3, we hope you enjoyed the holiday break. The children who attended our holiday care program enjoyed a range of activities including NAIDOC crafts, Under the Sea, Space, Winter Wonderland and a Superhero Day.
Term three is our favourite term because it kicks off our unique nature play program, Mura Gadi. Each week the children will be given the opportunity to explore nature in our local community. The term Mura Gadi means ‘pathways for searching’ in the traditional Ngunnawal language, which we believe perfectly encapsulates the idea behind our nature play program. Mura Gadi Gang is run every Tuesday and Thursday so please ensure your child has appropriate clothes on, such as covered shoes and no loose scarves. Gumboots are encouraged as there will lots of puddle jumping!
Learning outdoors creates lasting memories, helps build a greater respect for the environment, provides opportunities to think independently and take risks, assists in vision development and in the development of hand eye coordination and so much more. This article provides more information about how wonderful unstructured outdoor play is for our children. https://www.firstfiveyears.org.au/early-learning/the-benefits-of-nature-play-for-children

Covid
As you are aware, the covid case numbers are predicted to spike over the next few weeks.
- Please ensure you use hand sanitiser before using the iPads and that you continue to practice social distancing.- Children who are unwell should not be attending care unless a doctor has advised they are fit for care, if this is the case a medical certificate must be provided.
- If you are a close contact, you MUST wear a mask. We ask that you drop your child off at the classroom door and not entre the classroom to minimise time within the building. - If you or anyone in your household tests positive, please inform the ELC office ASAP.If you require any RAT kits please ask at the front office.
