A message from the Assistant Principal and Mrs D's "Thought of the Week"
A warm welcome back to school life and the start of Term 3. I sincerely hope all families managed some quality time together to refresh and centre themselves for the new challenges of the coming term.
Over the holidays I came across an article published July 12th 2022 in The Conversation which provided some ways parents can help their children learn to write well. Although these ideas are not necessarily new – they are a great reminder.
The suggestions were:
- Providing a real reason – note, message, shopping list, birthday card
- Write for fun – jokes, stories
- Display – create a family notice board
- Write then read – encourage children to read aloud
- Encourage – “I’m so pleased you used the word dalmatian instead of dog.”
- Ask for help – if you need some guidance talk to your child’s classroom teacher.

WALKATHON - COLOUR RUN - 12th August
Congratualations to our community for our fund raising efforts so far, almost $3000 is a huge effort. I urge all families to create a student profile and start their fund raising journey. Just $10 will earn a prize.
Although the event may need to run without parent assistance, we look forward to a school walk around our comunity and a special lunch on 12th August. The colour bombing will occur at the end of the day - weather premitting. We will send out details closer to the event.
