SJV Athletics Carnival

The Lobsters and Turtles will catch a bus to Chapman Oval to join in the fun of the St John Vianney’s athletics carnival next Wednesday 18 May.  Due to the change of date, updated permission notes have been sent home. This will be our first interaction with SJV this year with many more to come!

Cross Country

Lobsters and Turtles will be participating in the St Jude’s Cross Country carnival next Friday. We will be running a massive 400m!

ELC Open Day

The ELC Open Day will be held on Wednesday 18 May, 4pm – 6pm. If you know any families with children approaching preschool age, invite them along to have a look at the ELC!

2023 Online Enrolments

Enrolment for Catholic schools and ELCs for 2023 are now open.  A reminder to all ELC families that you need to submit an enrolment form for Kindergarten in 2023.  To access on-line the enrolment form, visit the relevant school website. Enrolments are based on a priority system.

  • Children living in Holder or Duffy are zoned for St Jude’s for primary school.

  • Children residing in Stirling, Fisher, Waramanga, Chapman or Rivett are zoned for St John Vianney’s.

Weston and Molonglo are shared zones and families can choose which primary school to apply for. Please note this does not guarantee you a place at that school.

Illness

A reminder that if your child is unwell, please keep them home from school for their own well-being and to prevent the spread of illness.  Please contact the ELC and let us know if your child is unwell.

Covid Exposure

Please remember to follow the ACT guidelines for Education and Care Services:

  • monitor closely for symptoms of COVID-19.

  • get a test if any COVID-19 symptoms develop, no matter how mild, and isolate until a negative result is received and symptoms resolve.

  • If you have symptoms and test negative on a RAT, take a PCR test to exclude COVID-19 and remain at home until this result is received and symptoms resolve

If you have a COVID positive case within your household, you are required to inform the ELC office. If your child is symptomatic, they should get tested and stay home until symptoms resolve. If you are unsure, please contact us.
