Happy Birthday Henry K, Phoebe T, Gianna M, Aisling B, Stanko K, Daniel S
Welcome back to Term 2, we hope you enjoyed the holiday break. The children who attended our holiday care program enjoyed a range of activities including Easter scavenger hunts, camping, a sports carnival, disco day, pyjama party and a teddy bears picnic.
Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who have been our Mystery Readers. We will continue Mystery Readers this term so get your favourite book out and start recording.
Gymnastics
Our gymnastics program at Woden Valley Gymnastics Club will begin next week. Stingrays and Turtles will attend every Tuesday, Lobsters attend every Thursday. Please return your permission notes as soon as possible.
ELC Open Day
The ELC Open Day will be held on Wednesday 18 May (times to be confirmed). If you know any families with children approaching preschool age, invite them along to have a look at the ELC!
2023 Online Enrolments
You are now able to submit online forms for enrolment in Catholic schools and ELCs for 2023. A reminder to all ELC families that you do need to submit an enrolment form for Kindergarten in 2023. To access on-line enrolment, visit the relevant school website.
Enrolment Zones
Enrolments are now open for the Primary schools (St Jude and St John Vianney) and ELC for 2023.
* Children living in Holder or Duffy are zoned for St Jude’s for primary school.
* If your residential address is Stirling, Fisher, Waramanga, Chapman or Rivett you are zoned for St John Vianney’s.
* Weston and Molonglo are shared zones and families can choose which school to apply for. Please note this does not guarantee you a place at that school.
Enrolments are based on a priority system.
Updated Covid restrictions
As you may be aware, the ACT government recently announced changes to the covid-19 restrictions. As of Wednesday 27 April, the following measures will be adopted by all Catholic schools in the ACT as guided by the Catholic Education Office:
- Household contacts are no longer required to isolate, they do, however, need to complete a negative RAT or PCR test before attending school, and again 48 and 96 hours after the original COVID declaration.
- Wearing of masks are optional for staff and students.
- Scanning the CBR Check-in code is optional.
Unfortunately, parents/carers are still not allowed within the school building, unless you have a specific appointment. We are however, looking for opportunities to have you involved in outdoor events such as Cross Country, Athletics etc.
If you have a COVID positive case within your household, you are still required to inform the ELC office. If your child is symptomatic, then they should stay home and get tested. Each family is different, so if you are unsure, please contact us.
