Happy Birthday Angus W
This week we learnt about the Lenten Season. On Shrove Tuesday we made and shared pancakes. On Ash Wednesday the children participated in an on-line liturgy prepared by the primary children. The ashes (which are normally placed in a cross on our foreheads) were sprinkled over our heads. We also learnt about the importance of doing kind things for others and we will be participating in Project Compassion to help people living in poverty. During Lent, children are welcome to bring in donations, for every $3 donated we will contribute rice to the class jar. At the end of Lent we will cook and share the rice.
On Wednesday we opened the ELC Fruit Shop where the children were able to choose from apples, pears, bananas, cucumber, big carrots and little carrots. For the mystery fruit, Mrs Leighton picked blackberries fresh from her mum’s garden. Remember you no longer need to pack a fruit snack on Wednesdays.
Covid Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs)
Families have now received their Week 6 allocation of RAT kits (2 per child). If your child returns a positive Covid test, you must notify ACT Health immediately and contact the ELC office so that contact tracing can begin. If there is a positive case within the centre, we will notify all families to inform you of the risks during any identified contact time.
Confirmation of Childcare Agreement
Please ensure you sign and return these as soon as possible. This agreement is a requirement of the Childcare Subsidy System.
