Principal's Message
Dear Parents
Welcome to the end of Week 9.  The term fast approaches with still so much to do.
Lord Jesus, Master of both the light and the darkness, send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas. We who have so much to do and seek quiet spaces to hear your voice each day. We who are anxious over many things look forward to your coming among us.
Parent Teacher Interviews/Reports
I trust you found the opportunity to speak to your child’s classroom teacher, during this week’s interviews, to be valuable,  I know there are still interviews to be held tomorrow. The disruptions caused by COVID have allowed our staff to approach the Reporting Schedule in a slightly different way this year. The Parent Teacher interviews have effectively replaced the comments which normally accompany our End of Year Reports. From a staff perspective the general feeling was that this was a better option which enabled a conversation rather than a simple comment.
Reports will be available Saturday 11th December through the Compass Portal.  The same procedure that was used in Semester 1 will need to be utilised again for easy access.  If you have any difficulties accessing your student's report, please contact the Front Office on Monday morning.  You could also review the Compass help document using this link.  Compass Link

    Transitions

Transition can often be a tough time for families and in particular children.  At SJV we have some students moving interstate to other schools, students moving into high school and students moving from day care and ELC's into our Kindergarten next year.  As such, these students may need support in the transition and I have placed a useful article using the link below as a resource for parents.
