Principal's Message
Welcome to the end of Wk 9
We welcome a new member into our community, Hanston's new baby brother, Polston. We wish Hanston's family much joy.
“God, please give my child all that is required for a good way of life and for a good way of living. Please let this child bring joy and pride to me and my family. I will give all that is needed to this child. And help me to do my best to guard and protect my baby for his/her lifetime."
Covid 19
Disappointingly our Covid local numbers do not seem to be going down and NSW numbers continue to climb. Therefore, we would like to implement two offerings for next week.
Well-Being Wednesday: Once again we would like to hold a well-being day for students to give them some down time from their school work. Some children have opted to use this as a catch-up time as well, either way it is so they can feel good about what they are doing in Remote Learning. This initiative will also support R U OK Day which Mrs Reed discusses in her section today.
Library Books: Some children have asked Ms Heath if they can borrow books for next week and the holidays. As such, the school will make a 'pick and collect' available for those families who are short on reading materials and know that their children would like to choose a book. Next Wednesday between 12:30pm and 3pm parents will be able to come into the school, check-in and select approximately 3 books to take home from the school hall. The books will be placed on aged-based tables. If you have books to return, we do ask that you bring these in and place them in the tubs located under the appropriate table.
NAPLAN Results
NAPLAN results should arrive this week and the school will mail these out to families as soon as they arrive. Hopefully, the local mail will not take too long and you should expect the results within a weeks time. We will notify parents on the day they are mailed out.
Possible Fee Relief
The CE recognise that this lock-down may be impacting families financially as well as psychologically.
Where your family is experiencing financial stress due to job loss, being stood down, reduction in work hours, business downturn or closure resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, full or partial fee relief is available for Term 3. To apply for fee relief, you are asked to indicate the level of assistance you feel you need at this time by completing a one-page fee assistance form. Please contact the school and we will email this form to you directly.
Canteen Survey
Thank you for the 62 responses to our Canteen Survey. It would be wonderful if we could get a few more responses, but with over 65% of our community voicing their opinion, I will be able to move forward with the information given. There is however, still time for your voice to be heard by clicking on the link provided in the email sent out to you last week.
School Sign
Unfortunately, and I am sure everyone has noticed, our school sign is out of order. What should have been a quick repair has been significantly delayed as we wait on the part and technician to repair our sign. He of course, is based out of Sydney and is currently locked out of the ACT.
God bless and stay safe
