Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are well and you are looking after yourselves during this challenging time.
For prayer this week I have given you a link to a wonderful rendition of ‘You Raise Me Up’.

Covid 19 and Remote Learning
Survey: You will be sent a link to access an online survey tomorrow afternoon. Please supoport the school by completing this document.
Take Home Packs: An email went out this afternoon asking Years K-4 to pick up Resource Packs. Could you please refer to this for collection times.
Extension of Lockdown: There is no news yet on a lockdown extension from CE. This will be dependent on decisions made by the ACT Government. Therefore, at the moment, we need to wait and see.
Online Etiquette: Some students are emailing each other regarding work which is great, however some students are also chatting via email. I would ask parents to check if their child(ren)are emailing one another to socialize and to discuss another way of connecting with their friends that does not involve email. This will help them to avoid the trap of online misunderstandings between friends. Also during ‘Live Check-in’s, it may be timely to remind students to be ready for their learning by sitting quietly, listening and engaging when asked. You might also remind them to keep fingers away from noses!!
Microsoft Teams Information: A reminder to parents that all Teams meeting from teachers to students are recorded and stored securely. This is for the safety and security of all participants. If you do not wish you child’s image to be recorded just click on the camera icon to prevent their image from being seen.
50th Anniversary Ball Refunds
Our Ball has been postponed until next year, as such, we would like to refund the full ticket price to all those people who have purchased online. Unfortunately, due to our accounting system, Jeanette can only do this by refunding it directly into a nominated account. If you or friends who were at your table, need a refund, could you please contact the Front Office next week between Mon-Wed and speak directly to Jeanette.
Year 6 Graduation Dinner
A call was placed out to our Year 5 parents to help organise the Year 6 Graduation Dinner. Unsurprisingly, given the current climate, we have had a limited response. This does create a problem for us and I will be emailing any families the school has not heard from to check on their willingness to participate. The school is currently exploring other opportunities to provide a fantastic end of year event.
Student Counselling
Our wonderful counsellor Kate Worthington is available for online sessions. If you are an existing client or if you would like to refer your child for a counselling session, please contact Kate on this email kate.worthington@catholiccare.cg.org.au. In our newly created Covid Wellness page in this newsletter, there is more information in relation to our counselling service.
Bookweek
Tomorrow the children will be celebrating Bookweek online. As part of the fun the children have been asked if they would like to dress up as their favourite book character for their morning check-in. There is no pressure to do this. The school is giving the children this opportunity to have a bit of fun, if they would like to participate.
Canteen 2022
A position is still open for the Canteen manager for next year. If you are interested in a position that requires the manager to be onsite on Monday and Wednesday for 10 hrs per week, please contact me directly on peter.rodda@cg.catholic.edu.au
God bless you and your families
