Preschool News

Mura Gadi (Pathways for searching) – Mura Gadi Gang days are our new favourite days to look forward to, it HAS NOT replaced Buddies but it sure comes a close second ?. The last few weeks have involved lots of tree climbing and mud...lots of mud! It is great to see all of the children challenging themselves physically and making new friends from the other classes. Our local area provides many environments for learning and wonder.  Rain adds an exciting aspect which many children enjoy exploring.  A reminder that the ELC children participate in Mara Gadi on Tuesdays and Thursdays.   Please ensure your child is dressed suitably for outdoor play and has spare clothes in their locker or bag. Gumboots are fantastic investment for Mura Gadi.

Book Week

In Week 7 we will celebrate Book Week. This year’s theme is ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”.  On Friday 27 August, Turtle and Lobster children are encouraged to come to school dressed up as something from an old world, new world or other world, or as a character from their favourite book.  Stingrays will have their costume parade on Monday 30th.

COVID-19 adjustment and changes

Thank you for your understanding and support during these challenging times. It is important that we all ensure that only 6 adults (over 16yrs) are in the foyer area at any one time. Please remember to maintain 1.5m distance at all times.

Check-in CBR

We are asking all adults - staff, parents, carers and visitors to use the Check In CBR app when they enter ELC grounds. The general rule is, if you leave your vehicle or come inside the school gate, find a QR code and check in.

Parent workshop

We are very fortunate to have access to the primary school councillor, Olivia Bowring-Greer. Olivia will be running a workshop ‘The road to resilient children’ on Wednesday 25 August (week 6). She will discuss what resilience is and how this can affect and/or benefit children. As your children are preparing for Kindergarten next year, you might find this topic particularly helpful.

Hats

As we approach August, the sun UV is getting higher. ELC staff check the UV each day, once it is three and higher children must wear hats. Please ensure your child has a hat packed each day. The uniform shop has hats available if required. Please ensure hats are clearly labelled.
