Gospel Reflection - Mark 14:12-16, 22-26

The Gospel this week tells the story of the Last Supper.  There is a deep focus on the preparation of the meal, and this encourages us to reflect on how we can prepare ourselves and our families to celebrate the Eucharist each week at Mass.  Some ideas include taking time to pray as a family throughout the week, prepare a meal together, even read the Gospel together and talk about how Jesus gave his disciples instructions for exactly what they needed to do to prepare the meal. Jesus knew this meal would be his last with his disciples, and He wanted it to be special. The instructions he gave them, ‘do this in memory of me,’ are at the heart of our Catholic faith. This Gospel reminds us that the Eucharist is a memorial of Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross. We believe that Jesus is present to us in the elements of the bread and wine.

First Reconciliation and Eucharist Celebrations

Congratulations to Thea, Armahli and Matheius who celebrated their First Eucharist last weekend.  We will present their certificates once all our candidates have celebrated their First Eucharist. This will be at Monday morning assembly on June 21st.

We also congratulate our students who made their First Reconciliation last week in a beautiful, prayerful ceremony. It was great to see so many families there to support all our candidates as they took this step in their faith journeys.
